Townsville man charged over child porn images of 12 children

A man has been charged with four counts of child pornography offences after it was revealed he was distributing child porn on Facebook.

On Tuesday, detectives from the West Midlands Serious Organised Crime Command charged 24-year-old Daniel Lewis-Atherton with two counts of sexual activity with a child under 16, along with eight other child porn offences, relating to files found on his mobile phone and hard drive.

Detectives from the West Midlands Serious Organised Crime Command seized around 10,000 images of children between the ages of one and 12, which police said were among the most sexualised images of children they had encountered in many years of work on the investigation.

They believe the child porn images were uploaded from an address in Milton Keynes and taken to his home using the mobile phone, a tablet and external storage devices.
